Week 13 IDP Waiver Wire - All Linebacker Special

We’re getting close! To what you ask? Christmas? Kind of! A sunny summer day? Nope! The fantasy football playoffs? Bingo, that’s it!

If you’re fortunate enough to still be in the post-season conversation then it’s time load up! In most competitive IDP scoring formats a high end linebacker should score around the same as a top-notch running back! Within reason.

Although IDP scoring is all over the map, it makes each league specific and unique. The only reason I mention this is so I can tell you my IDP playoff secrets! Much like handcuffing RB’s for the postseason, it’s now time to also add a plethora of LB’s! Depth is so vital to a deep payoff run.

Week in and week out a minor ankle tweak or a twisted knee can have massive implications for you teams championship aspirations. In the IDP community, to me, there is no shortage of linebackers can produce big time.

Let’s explore the week 13 IDP waiver wire! An ALL LINEBACKER special edition! With unusually deep format twist!

Cole Holcomb (LB - Washington Football Team)

I’ve made no secret about my love for Washington’s defense! In addition, Cole has seen his usage skyrocket. In week 12 he played 83% of the defensive snaps. Six solo tackles, four assisted, 0.5 sacks, one TFL and a QB hit! Holcomb should have no issues with playing time moving forward. He’s a great add for playoff hopeful teams and evening better depth for a deep playoff run!

A.J. Klein (LB - Buffalo Bills)

Holy smokes has AJ been a nightmare for opposing offenses lately! In just three game Klein has 4.5 sacks! In his last three games has also racked up ten solo tackles twice! In week 12 alone he had ten solo tackles, four assisted, three TFL, 1.5 sacks and a TFL. He is the definition of a MUST START! Everyone is always talking a RB add helping to get you over the top. Or a WR that can be a league winner. What about a linebacker? AJ Klein has what it takes to help win your league!

Tyrell Adams (LB - Houston Texans)

Adams has been towing the line past few weeks. Meaning his ownership percentages have dipped big time. Then came Thanksgiving! Where on the national stage he did very well! Fourteen solo tackles, three assisted and two forced fumbles. I’d expect a bump in his ownership after waivers clear this week. Get in on that! LB2 floor with LB1 upside!

Ja’Whaun Bentley (LB - New England Patriots)

Bentley doesn’t get mentioned much in IDP circles. Which is understandable given the fact he’s been in and out of the lineup in recent weeks. What have you done for me lately matters most this late in the season! In week 12 Ja”Whaun had six solo tackles and seven assisted tackles. He now also had five, or more, solo tackles in three of last five games. He has made his case for ownership and depth while fully being able to make an impact in plus match-ups!

Troy Reeder (LB - Los Angeles Rams)

In the absence of Micah Kiser, Troy once again went wild. To be fair we’ve seen this from him several times this season. Most importantly, Reeder tallied twelve solo tackles, three assisted and one TFL. His upside is a tad limited given his weakness in coverage but should assume a starting LB role long as Micah is sidelined.

Danny Trevathan (LB - Chicago Bears)

Probably should say this but Danny’s time has come and gone in terms of being a LB1 or even a LB2. However, he does make for a nice bye week replacement for any Panthers or Tampa Bay Buccaneers on your roster in week 13. Nothing more nothing less.

Leonard Floyd (LB - Los Angeles Rams)

Floyd has been fantastic for any teams that were able to grab him off waivers weeks ago. In week 12 Floyd had seven total tackles, five assisted and two solo. Paired with All Pro DL Aaron Donald, Leonard has register 7.5 sacks already this season. A career high! Personally, I love the idea of adding Leo Floyd and putting him on stand-by for the playoffs. Much like any position when these guys are hot they are amazing!

Preston Smith (LB - Green Bay Packers)

As mentioned above getting hot and being streaky is a real thing on both sides of the ball. Let me honest here, Preston has struggled this season. Only 2.5 sacks through eleven games in 2020. Yet two of them in the last three games. Plus, in week 12, he recovered a fumble and scored a touchdown! A big splash like that could be the match to set the fire. Keep an eye on Preston! I’d be willing to bet he picks up the pace moving forward!

Harvey Langi (LB - New York Jets)

Who says garbage time can’t start right at kick off? That’s the play here with any and all New York Jet players. The Jet’s have been absolutely decimated at the LB position. In turn it’s opened the door for a guy like Harvey. Eight total tackles in week 12. Three solo, five assisted and a fumble recovery. Langi has seen a slight boost in ownership. Around 7.5%-10% depending on league size. If you’re an IDP junky like I am who plays in super deep leagues then go add Harvey!

Here are a few other linebackers worth a second look this week and into the fantasy playoff!

Malik Reed (LB - Denver Broncos)

Nate Hall (LB - Houston Texans)

Elandon Roberts (LB - Miami Dolphins)

Jordan Jenkins (LB - New York Jets)

Thanks for reading! I look forward to providing more fantastic IDP waiver wire adds each week moving forward!
