3 Steps to Determine if Your Team is a Pretender or Contender in Dynasty

Alright Dynasty managers, we're around the halfway point of the Season. It’s time to start taking a long, hard look at your team and decide what moves you need to make.

Step 1. SELL SELL SELL!

If your team is 0-7, 1-6, 2-5, it's time to start selling off your veterans that can help a potential contender in your league. Start trying to sell those salty veterans to people in contention for younger studs with upside. Shoot for more picks in the future, as the 2021 Draft Class is absolutely LOADED with NFL-ready talent. Just look at these plays by possible Dynasty RB1, Najee Harris.

Step 2. Look to the Future

"Doc?! Are you telling me, that my team...STINKS?!" "Yes Marty, that's precisely it! We need to build your team...for the future!"

Start planning ahead. Get out there and analyze your team. What are your needs going to be next year? That’s a question to start asking yourself now and acting on those needs. Is your RB core full of David Johnsons and Le'Veon Bells? Time to start shipping them off for future 2nd or 1st round picks to inject some youth into your RB-core. Target teams that are on the verge of contention and don't care about their future picks, that's when you can extract the most value out of your dynasty assets. Take your Dynasty rebuild to 88 miles per hour!

Step 3. BUY BUY BUY!

Keep an eye on the upcoming ballers next season as well as the end of season sleepers. Who would have thought JK Dobbins and Cam Akers would have busts year one? Not this guy. Everyone knew they were poised for great things from the word go, just based on their talent alone. The talent is there for players like Cam Akers and JK Dobbins, but the opportunity for fantasy production in 2020 is seeming bleaker every week. These players are clearly future RB1 talents, just look at this long run by JK Dobbins this season!

Those are the type of rookies you need to be targeting to acquire from teams in contention. Their managers may be fed up with the lack of fantasy production this season, and willing to move the players at a steep discount.
